Oh, that wild and wacky Bush family...

Barbara Bush on NPR's "Marketplace" about the refugees in Houston's Astrodome:

"What I'm hearing - which is sort of scary - is that they all want to stay in Texas. Everybody is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway so this is... this is working (chuckle) very well for them."

And instead of ranting, I'll just allow you to come to your own conclusions about a) the chuckle, b) the "which is sort of scary" line that she threw in there, and c) how intelligent it is to say that what happened in New Orleans last week was "working very well" for people who have basically lost their entire lives.
